2018 is coming to an end and I decided to share with you how this year has been to me.
So to start in the beggining of the year I was still in Sheffield working in a local pub for £800/month. I was still doing my qualification and finished it in March. One month later I moved to London to work as a chef. I worked a couple of different jobs until I find one that suits what I wanted.
I started in a five star hotel, been promoted once and feel I have improved drastically over the past 8 months working there. My income has also almost tripled since my time in Sheffield and as I am keeping my expenses almost the same I am able to save more and get closer to financial freedom.
My savings have doubled in the last 6 months and my skillset in general has improved quite a lot.
Of course that comes at a certain sacrifices – I didnt have time for a holiday, I worked a lot during that year and feel sufficiently exhausted, but nothing in life comes easy.
A thing that I miss is having people around me with my way of thinking. The people around me do not think about their finances, their future , their passions and what they want to do in life in general. Everyone is just occupied with their day to day life and living paycheck to paycheck without even thinking about other options. Every time I try to explain this people just don’t get it , atleast the very big majority of them. Maybe they are going to start thinking about it when it is a bit too late.
Do I have any regrets for 2018 ?
My first one is not starting this blog earlier. I kept postponing it for a long time and just kept making excuses. Glad I finally started it and I am very motivated to keep it going as it acts very motivating to me.
Another one is that I didn’t have much time for my family and my closest friends. It’s been a very busy year and everything in my life besides my goals has been left on second plan.
After all in order to have more time in the future I have to sacrifice some of my time now.
Well I have my priorities and I am in a stage in my life where I have to pursue what is right for me and follow my goals.
After I look back I can say that this has been the most productive year of my life so far and my life has been improving month by month and 2018 has made me a better person.
Thank you all for your support along the way, stay tuned for more and don’t forget to follow this blog if you want to know how my journey is going on.
Hope you all had a good 2018 and let’s wish we all have an even better 2019 !
Thank you Daniel, absolutely agree
